Your biggest problem that needs solving in Baldur's Gate 3 is the Ilithid parasite wriggling around in your brain. You will run into different characters that claim they can cure you, or at least attempt to. Messing around with your eye and brain is dangerous.

Not everyone knows what they are doing and allowing someone to attempt to cure you could end in disaster. Luckily, there is a friendly Mind Flayer named Omeluum within The Underdark that is willing to experiment. Found within the Myconid Colony, Omeluum only requires a few ingredients to get things rolling.

Where To Find Tongue of Madness

The ingredients Omeluum asks for are native to The Underdark. You will be able to find both Timmask plants and Tongue of Madness growing around The Underdark. Despite their natural growth in the dark depths, they are not common to find and when you do, there won't be much.

  • You can find many pieces of Tongue of Madness within the Arcane Tower.

The Arcane Tower is directly beside the mushroom portal that leads to Auntie Ethel's lair. The tower is also West of The Underdark Beach. On the floor beneath the entrance, you can find Tongue of Madness growing in planters.

Where To Find Timmask Spores

Baldur's Gate 3 Timmask Spore In Arcane Tower

Just as with Tongue of Madness, you can find Timmask plants around The Underdark, but most importantly can find multiple pieces of Timmask Spore within the Arcane Tower.

The Arcane Tower belonged to a spellcaster who was very proficient in crafting potions, clearly. You can even unlock the old master's secret basement for access to more materials.

Timmask Spores can be found on the same floor you find Tongue of Madness.

  • You can also find a Timmask Spore on the lower level, where the generator is.

What Happens If You Drink Omeluum's Potion?

Once you bring all the ingredients back to Omeluum, he will craft a special potion for you to drink. The potion will lower the parasite's defenses so that Omeluum can psychically enter your brain and control the worm.

Omeluum will quickly realize that he cannot make his way through to the parasite. Your player retorts that it was all for nothing and now the parasite is stronger due to lower defenses. You can claim this as a good thing, that lower defenses mean stronger Ilithid power.

There is actually no positive or negative benefit to drinking Omeluum's potion. You will not be cured, and you will not receive any debuffs, either.

You can convince Omeluum to give you a ring in exchange for the "damage" he has done. He claims that this ring, the Ring of Restorative Gravity, will subdue the parasite.

Despite this discussion, nothing happens to your parasite or Ilithid powers gameplay-wise.

Ring of Restorative Gravity sells for 1700 Gold and allows the wearer to pull another creature 2 metres towards them upon healing them.
