Often found in crates or dropped by enemies, you can quickly amass a collection, leading to the inevitable question: What's their use? If you've found yourself pondering this, fear not—our guide will explain everything to know about silver ingots: where to find them and what they're good for.

Where To Get Silver Ingots

Across the world of Faerun, Silver Ingots are a common find, often tucked away in crates and chests. As a general rule of thumb, it's a good idea to inspect every container and corpse that crosses your path.

That being said, watch out for bodies, chests and items highlighted in red text! Those items aren't yours, and that rifling through them will draw the ire of NPCs nearby.

If the allure of forbidden fruit is too much to resist, make sure that you're hiding and can remain unseen while you do the deed.

While less frequent, defeated enemies occasionally carry Silver Ingots. Always take a moment to search their bodies after the heat of battle, as you never know when you'll chance upon this shiny metal—or something even more valuable.

What Are Silver Ingots Good For?

In earlier parts of the game, Silver Ingots are about as useful as paperweights—very expensive paperweights, considering that they can be sold for a significant 50 gold each at vendors.

We'd recommend keeping a couple of silver ingots in your camp chest, just in case later parts of the game offer you the chance to upgrade your equipment with these ingots. Otherwise, they can go straight to buying potions and shiny swords.
