Ever since Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 was announced during Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour earlier this year, fans have been desperate for even a crumb of information on what the game will look like or a possible release date. Even a new trailer would be enough to satisfy some, though that's looking unlikely now that fans have been let down by Bandai Namco's Anime Expo Summer Showcase. However, it seems like there's hope yet.

First spotted by u/KelvinBelmont and shared to the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit, Dragon Ball Z voice actor Sonny Strait recently posted a new TikTok in which he shares that he "just got through recording a video game" that involved "a lot of screaming". Strait is fairly prolific as a voice actor, having voiced mutliple characters in a whole bunch of different anime shows, though there are very few he's involved in with upcoming video games in development.

Strait understandably states that he can't mention which video game he's been recording for, though he does reveal that he plays "three very distinct characters", narrowing down the list of potential games even further. Dragon Ball Z fans will probably know that Strait has voiced multiple characters in the series over the years, including Krillin, Bardock, Giru, and a few others. It's not confirmed, but fans seem pretty convinced he's been recording the English dub for Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

If that is true, we can take a decent guess as to how far away the game might actually be. Usually, voice actors recording lines is something that's done fairly early into production, as it's much easier to animate with voice lines already recorded than to animate without them. However, since Strait has been recording for a dub, it's possible that Budokai Tenkaichi 4 might be in the closing stages of development and a release date could be revealed fairly soon.

It's worth keeping in mind that most of this is speculatory, and there's every possibility that Strait could be working on a different series entirely. There are plenty of anime based video games in development at the moment, and Strait has lent his voice to a whole lot of them. He's appeared in shows like One Piece, and could even potentially be involved in titles such as the upcoming Sand Land adaptation. It's true that Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is the most likely, though you'll want to keep your hype meters in check to avoid potential disappointment.
