Remnant 2 provides a diverse selection of weapons you can use to survive the challenges of this game. Generally, these weapons fall into two categories: ranged and melee. You can carry two guns — a Handgun and a Long Gun — as well as a melee weapon. This setup offers you an opportunity to experiment with various weapons.
In contrast to the first game, Remnant from The Ashes, where most ranged weapons were guns, the sequel surprises everyone by introducing Bows. You might question whether a bow is suitable for handling groups of enemies or even capable of taking on tough bosses. However, the Crescent Moon Bow has the potential to alter your perspective on this matter.
How to Get The Crescent Moon Bow
To begin, you need to progress through the game until you reach the Losomn world. Your first task is to get the Dreamcatcher. After you obtain it, make your way to Nimue's Retreat, where you'll have a chance to find Nimue sleeping. If Nimue is awake, you can either reload the area or interact with a World Stone.
When you're at her Retreat, remember to crouch down or use the Hunter's Shroud skill from the Hunter Archetype. This way, you won't disturb her while she's sleeping.
While you're at Nimue's location and find her asleep, approach her wrist, where you'll notice a glowing blue halo-like object. Use the Dreamcatcher to attack this halo.
Pressing the attack button in this situation won't harm her; instead, it triggers a different animation where you extract her dream.
This action will grant you Nimue's Dream. Equip it in the quick bar and use it like a consumable.
Upon consumption, you'll be transported to an open empty area known as Retreat's Horizon. Once there, look for a distant glowing turquoise stone. Go to it.
Once you make it to the stone, you'll be able to gather the Anamy's Echo. With this crafting material in your hand, return to Ward 13 and visit McCabe. Using the Anamy's Echo with seven Lumenite Crystals and 1,000 scrap will allow you to craft the Crescent Moon Bow.
Crescent Moon Bow Overview
The Crescent Moon falls under the special Long Gun category in the game. It's one of the only three bows available in Remnant 2. This is a high-damage bow that not only looks stylish but also holds great power. It's best suited for close to medium range encounters.
What makes this bow exceptional is its weapon Mod, Moonlight Barrage. This Mod significantly improves your arrows in various ways, as described below:
- When activated, it empowers the bow for 15 seconds.
- All fired arrows will apply Moonlight to enemies they hit for 3 seconds, and all enemies affected by it will release a Moon Essense.
- This Moon Essense will return one arrow to your character, heals 5 percent of their Max Health, and provides 15 percent Fire and Reload Speed for 5 seconds.
- Basic shots automatically become Charged shots, while manually Charged shots fire two arrows at the same time.
When facing boss battles, the Crescent Moon Bow truly shines. Don't be discouraged by its one-shot ammo limitation, as numerous compensatory features overshadow this drawback.
The Crescent Moon Bow can become a deadly weapon in skilled hands, particularly when paired with the appropriate build. This is mainly due to its Mod, which enhances arrow performance, provides healing, and conserves ammunition.
