THQ Nordic held it's yearly showcase earlier today, showcasing all of the interesting titles they have coming in the near future. A whole bunch of exciting titles were shown off, though the highlight was undoubtedly the first trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin. Nickelodeon confirmed the game was in development earlier this year, and now we finally have a trailer officially revealing the title, albeit an extremely brief one.

If you're expecting the typical jolly TMNT experience with The Last Ronin, then you're in for a bit of a shock. Based on the comic of the same name by Eastman, Waltz, Bishop, Delgado, and the Escorza Brothers, The Last Ronin is one of the more darker stories in the series, and has you playing as the last surviving Turtle who is seeking revenge for the family that they've lost.

Unfortunately, this new trailer didn't bring with it a release date or even a release window. In fact, it was so slim and lacking in detail that all we know is that the game is officially in development and is being made by Black Forest Games, the developers of Fade to Silence and the recent Destroy All Humans! remasters. We also know that The Last Ronin appears to be skipping last-gen consoles, as the game will only release for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.

Given that we still don't have a release window of any kind just yet, or even any gameplay to pore over, we can assume that The Last Ronin is still a few years away at best, which would also explain the lack of last-gen console support. In fact, this was also backed up by Doug Rosen, senior vice president for games and emerging media at Paramount Global, who said earlier this year the The Last Ronin is still a "few years out".

Elsewhere in the THQ Nordic Showcase, we also saw a new trailer for Outcast 2, though it seems to have undergone a name change since it was last shown off. Ahead of the release of the trailer, the developer told us that it has decided to drop the "2" from the game's title to try and persuade as many newcomers as possible to check the game out.

We got to see a whole bunch of gameplay during the trailer too, which showcasing the game's traversal system as well as some intense combat scenarios and how main character Cutter Slade will interact with the world of Aldepha. Just like The Last Ronin, we didn't get a release date for the game, but we do know it will launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
