You can have up to four characters in one team of Honkai: Star Rail, but you'll need to make two different teams if you want to beat the Memory of Chaos. This will require you to have at least two Abundance or Preservation characters since your entire team can take damage from the enemies.

You can get one healer for free by progressing in the story, and Luocha can be the second one if you have him on your account. Certain characters can benefit from Luocha's play style more than others, which makes them more efficient together.

Updated on August 13, 2023, by Sanyam Jain: As soon as Luocha was released, he quickly became more popular than any other Abundance or Preservation character due to his automatic heal and positive Skill Point economy. New characters who use a ton of Skill Points made him even more important.

10 Seele

Seele was the first limited character in Honkai: Star Rail, and there's a high chance of you having her on your account if you've been playing from the start. She's a phenomenal Hunt character who can also be considered Erudition because of the extra chances she can get whenever she defeats an enemy.

This works perfectly whenever you have the field from Luocha's Talent. This field lasts for two turns, which would only heal each ally twice, but Seele can heal multiple times because of the extra turns that allow her to deal extra damage instances to the enemy.

9 Yukong

Yukong is an Imaginary four-star character who was released alongside Luocha, and she fits him perfectly since she has a passive that lets all the Imaginary characters deal extra damage. She's a Harmony character who can buff Luocha's ATK, Crit Rate, and Crit DMG with her Skill and Ultimate as well.

Luocha's heal scales off his ATK and he can deal quite a lot of DMG with his Ultimate. Moreover, you'd always want to use a Harmony and an Abundance character in every team to buff the DPS and keep them alive for as long as you can.

8 Blade

When you use Blade's Skill in Honkai: Star Rail, he consumes one Skill Point and buffs your Basic Attack for the next three turns. Unfortunately, these Enhanced Basic Attacks don't regenerate a Skill Point upon use, which usually puts the team in an SP deficit unless you have other characters to regenerate them for you.

Moreover, Blade loses his HP while using his Skill and the Enhanced Basic Attacks. While he can regenerate his own health, the automatic healing from Luocha can easily come in clutch if you're fighting a boss with high damage.

7 Physical Trailblazer

The best part about Honkai: Star Rail is that you can get different versions of the Trailblazer for free and they're all very good. Physical Trailblazer follows the path of Destruction, and they're unlocked at the start of the game. They can deal quite a lot of both single and multi-target damage.

It's also easier to get the Trailblazer's Ultimate since Destruction characters have a higher chance of getting attacked. This allows you to trigger the healing from Luocha's field multiple times. Moreover, the free healing from Luocha's skill can also help since you'll be tanking a bunch of attacks with this character.

6 Welt

Honkai Star Rail Welt Splash and Menu

Luocha might be great at removing ally debuffs and enemy buffs at Eidolon Zero, but he can't give any debuffs to the enemies unless you trigger Weakness Break. If you use Welt with him, you'll be able to slow down the enemies quite frequently and you'll also get rid of their Toughness bar easily.

As mentioned above, both these characters can be put together with Yukong to increase the Imaginary DMG and Toughness break speed. With all these characters, the enemy will hardly have their Toughness bar up for more than one turn.

5 Kafka

Nihility characters like Kafka might be great at applying debuffs on the enemies, but they're quite squishy because of their lack of DEF and HP. Moreover, she can make all the DoT instances on an enemy take effect instantly when her Skill is used, which is why it's recommended to always use the Skill on her turn.

To deal high damage, she requires other DoT team members like Sampo or Serval, and these characters also need to use a lot of Skill Points. Apart from keeping them alive, Luocha can also balance out the Skill Point usage since you don't have to use his Skill as much.

4 Qingque

Qingque will always be a special character in Honkai: Star Rail because her kit revolves around Gacha in a Gacha game. If you've used this character, you'll know that she eats up Skill Points like there's no tomorrow. You can use up to four Skill Points while using her Skill and still have no damage sometimes.

If you like using this character, Luocha can make it a little better since you usually don't have to use his Skill. You can try to build him on SPD and let him have as many turns as possible to perform Basic Attacks and build Skill Points.

3 Asta

Honkai Star Rail Asta Splash and Menu

You might feel like Asta isn't a very good character during the early game, but her value increases monumentally as you try to fight higher-level bosses. These bosses can have enough SPD to take double turns before your characters take one sometimes, and Asta can help you prevent that.

If you build her with Sprightly Vonwacq set and Energy Regeneration Rate Link Rope, you'll get much more turns on Luocha. This will help him get his Ultimate quicker and make the Talent field more often. Put together, these two can make your team members immortal as long as they don't get one shot.

2 Silver Wolf

Weakness is an important mechanic in Honkai: Star Rail, which makes Silver Wolf an S-Tier character since she can implant a new Weakness into an enemy based on your team members. There might be times when you have to fight enemies with no Imaginary Weakness and still bring Luocha for healing.

In these times, you can use Silver Wolf to get the required Weakness on the enemy. This increases the efficiency of the team since the Toughness bar damage on Luocha's Ultimate is quite substantial.

1 Jing Yuan

Honkai Star Rail Jing Yuan Cool Looking Down With Golden Eyes

Jing Yuan's synergy with Luocha works similarly to Seele, but timing it is much harder. Lightning Lord will regularly attack all enemies on the field and deal damage based on the stacks it has. This attack is considered a follow-up attack, and it triggers a special mechanic with Luocha.

Whenever the Lightning Lord attacks the enemies, all your characters are healed for an equal amount. If timed correctly, this can save your entire team from getting knocked down. Although, it's quite hard to time the Lightning Lord when the field is active.
