Honkai: Star Rail is a turn-based RPG from HoYoverse, creators of Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact. It's a spin-off title that takes place after the events of A Post-Honkai Odyssey - a self-contained part of Honkai Impact 3rd set eight years after the main story that sees the majority of Honkai sealed on the moon by Kiana, before humanity is invaded by aliens known as the Sky People.
Honkai: Star Rail focuses on the war against the Sky People, and includes some Honkai Impact 3rd characters, and some alternative or adjusted versions. You play as the Trailblazer, journeying through space on a giant train known as the Astral Express. The aim is to explore different worlds and space stations, confronting the Sky People on their own turf and trying to protect as many planets and factions as possible from this formidable foe.

We are also introduced to Luka, a member of Wildfire. Read on to find out more about both new playable characters.
Honkai: Star Rail Character Statistics Chart
There are currently 26 playable characters in Honkai: Star Rail. A handful can be obtained by gameplay, while the rest are tied to the game's gacha system. Each character follows one of seven paths that affect how they perform in combat. They also channel one of several elements in battle.
This chart offers an overview of the different characters including their age, height, path, and element. Heights are based on the in-game character models, while specific ages are currently unknown and instead any description relating to age has been added when provided. Below is a character list that reveals more about each one, including their background and faction.

29 Arlan
Arlan is the head of Herta Space Station's Security Department. He is not capable of doing research himself, but he very much respects those who do and would risk his own life to protect them.
He has a dog called Peppy who he adores, and who keeps him company throughout his day. It's said that he is no stranger to pain, and wears his scars proudly, since they show that he did his job well and protected others.
28 Asta
Asta is the Lead Researcher on the Herta Space Station and specializes in astronomy. She's responsible for managing other researchers, as well as making sure the Space Station is running smoothly. She also deals with the Intelligentsia Guild, taking a polite but firm tone she uses throughout her duties.
This energetic young woman approaches things with effortless confidence, taking everything in her stride as she balances tasks and demands, seemingly with ease.
27 Bailu
Bailu is a young female Vidyadhara with a gifting for healing. She is known as the "Healer Lady" because of her skills in the field of medicine. Her remedies are unorthodox and can include prescribing hydration, sleep, or in one case a book about how to identify poisonous foods!
Despite her calling to heal, Bailu struggles to see people suffer, meaning she often treats patients with her eyes shut. So far this does appear to have had any negative effects.
26 Blade
Blade is a member of the Stellaron Hunters and his past, and present, are shrouded in mystery. The skilled swordsman is said to have abandoned his body to become a blade, with an incredibly powerful self-healing ability.
His name is unknown, as is his age, but he bears both physical and mental scars that suggest he has been through a lot over the years. This has led him to pledge loyalty to "Destiny's Slave."
25 Bronya
Bronya is heir to the Supreme Guardian of Belobog, and Commander of the Silvermane Guards. Well-educated from an early age, she has grown into a graceful young woman who is highly capable and has an affinity for her work.
While Bronya has trained for her future role as a leader her whole life, seeing the horrific conditions in the Underworld for herself has planted seeds of doubt in her mind as to if she can really lead her people to the future they both deserve and desire.
24 Clara
Clara was orphaned at an early age, leading the shy young girl to become part of the self-serving prospectors through necessity, although desiring a family more than anything else. At some point, she accidentally reactivated a dormant robot from a past civilization known as Svarog which then raised her.
Shortly afterward, the prospectors wound up united under Svarog's leadership. Clara herself became almost a legend, a red-hooded figure adept at uncovering rare relics and extracting them from dangerous places. She's often referred to as the bloody rabbit and is feared by the other prospectors.
23 Dan Heng
Dan Heng is the guard of the Astral Express. The reserved young man can often come across as cold, but this appears to mostly be linked to his life prior. No one really knows what happened, but he was said to have taken the role of train guard in the hopes of escaping his past.
Despite wishing to forget his own history, he calmly and diligently observes and records everything the Astral Express encounters in its archives.
22 Gepard
Gepard Landau is the captain of Belobog's Silvermane Guards. He's responsible for city defense and maintaining peace, something that's incredibly challenging in the current hostile climate.
His sister Serval often ridicules him for his scrupulous manner, but it's served him well. He has been able to maintain peace and a sense of comfort in Belobog, despite the threats the city faces.
21 Herta
Herta is considered the true master of the Herta Space Station, although you may not realize it since her interest in it ebbs and flows. She's the human with the highest IQ in The Blue and as such often flits between projects, becoming bored with things she considers too simple.
While Herta appears to be incredibly young, this is not her true form. She chooses to appear across the Space Station as a puppet, modeled on herself as a child.
20 Himeko
Himeko is a scientist and the creator of the Astral Express. Naturally curious and adventurous, she encountered a stranded train in her home world as a child and set about repairing it.
While fixing the train an existence inside it showed young Himeko the world outside her own. Years later, having finally completed the repairs, she began a journey across the stars, picking up many companions along the way.
19 Hook
Hook considers herself the boss of The Moles adventure squad, a group of friends from Belobog's Underworld.
A feisty youngster, she prefers to be addressed as Pitch-Dark Hook the Great! She considers asking you to join The Moles as a great privilege, although no one really knows what it entails.
18 Jing Yuan
Jing Yuan, known as The Divine Foresight, is an Arbiter-General of the Cloud Knights, who are part of the Xianzhou Alliance. He's also one of the Charioteers of the Xianzhou Luofo. While he earned the name of Dozing General, he has actually done a huge amount to maintain the peace the Xianzhou have enjoyed for many years.
Meticulous and fastidious, Jing Yuan firmly believes that if he has to save his people from the brink of disaster then he's doing something wrong. Instead, he focuses on preventing potential problems with routine tasks that are often overlooked, hence the undeserved reputation of being lazy.
17 Kafka
Kafka is a Stellaron Hunter on the Interastral Peace Corporation's most-wanted list and is one of the most trusted companions of 'Destiny's Slave' Elio, the founder of the Stellaron Hunters. You'll recognize her from the main storyline in the game, where she first appears alongside Silver Wolf as your character awakens.
Despite encountering her again since then, we still know very little about the mysterious beauty who appears to have been involved in Trailblazer absorbing the Stellaron's energy. What we do know is that we can expect to see her again, since Elio believes that Trailblazer's destiny is entwined with that of the Stellaron Hunters.
16 Luka
Luka is a well-known boxing champion and member of Wildfire. He fights at the Belobog Underworld and specializes in mixed martial arts. He's often seen as a role-model, especially to the local children, due to his enthusiasm and optimistic outlook on life.
Luka has been through a lot himself, resulting in him having a mechanical arm, but he continues to stay positive. Luka uses his skills and his strength to protect the people of the Underworld, whatever it takes.
15 Luocha
Luocha is a trader from beyond the seas who is most notable for carrying a coffin on his back. He is also known for his medical skills, which he frequently uses to rescue and aid others. They came in particularly handy when he was caught up in Xianzhou Luofu's Stellaron crisis.
As a foreign merchant, he is registered with the Xianzhou Yuque as part of the Alliance, as well as at the Star Unity Branch at North Valley Star. He has been entrusted to take the coffin to Luofu, and his design is based on Otto Apocalype from the Honkai series who similarly carried a coffin during the Seven Swords visual novel.
14 March 7th
March 7th is a quirky and smart girl who was rescued from eternal ice by the crew of the Astral Express. She joined them on their journey across the stars, making sure to always have a camera at hand in case she can capture a momento of her past.
She's still none the wiser about her past life, or even her name, which led to the decision to name herself after the date she was rescued, March 7th.
13 Natasha
Natasha is a doctor from The Underworld, where medical practitioners are scarce and resources even more so. She's well respected and liked in the community, always greeting them with a smile.
She's a surrogate caregiver to the children of the area, and while always appearing kind and caring she does have a darker side. Even the notorious rascal Hook is in awe of Natasha, politely calling her Auntie Natasha.
12 Pela
Pela is short for Pelageya Sergeyevna, and she's the Intelligence Officer for the Silvermane Guards. A serious and meticulous young woman, she is calm and brilliant, being admired by those who work with her for her problem-solving capabilities.
Her serious and assured nature is in contrast to her phone case, which suggests a more chaotic and disordered side to her personality that she keeps well hidden.
11 Qingque
Qingque is a Diviner for the Divination Commission, having passed the entrance exam to gain the favor of her parents. A natural slacker, she was disappointed to discover that her job was in fact incredibly intensive, and not the relaxing public service position she presumed.
She has moved departments several times, and remains at the lowest level of Diviners, being decidedly average, and happy with it. Instead, preferring to read books or play cards.
10 Sampo
Sampo Koski is a silver-tongued mercenary from The Underworld, who will do almost anything if there's a profit to be made from it. Eloquent and knowledgeable, he can sweet-talk anyone who asks him for help into becoming a customer.
Just be careful what you ask for, since his customers can become commodities if the price is right.
