In Act One of Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, you got Calliope’s address from Pan, who warned you he’d want a favor in exchange for his help, and he hasn’t forgotten. Asterion, the Minotaur, has come to him for help with an affair of the heart, but Pan thinks you’d do better.

The Reliquary

Either before or after Aphrodite's Party (the order you do these tasks in doesn't seem to matter much), you'll need to go speak to Pan again, after he sent a calling card to Grace's Apartment.

Select Talk to Pan from the overworld menu of the town, and you'll be brought to the fantastical home to many of the gods and Idols - Olympus.

You can ask him several questions about Olympus or the Idols and their history, but the gist of this meeting is that Pan needs a favor - the one you promised him earlier in exchange for Calliope's address.

Someone has asked for Pan's help with romance, but Pan thinks Grace would be of more help. He offers more information about The Reliquary when asked, and you'll have a chance to flirt with Pan, but choose "I'll consider it" to move on.

You can ask about Medusa, flirt a few more times, or move on. After speaking to Pan about it and obtaining the key, choose The Reliquary from the map.

Find Hecate At The Reliquary

Interestingly enough, regardless of who you've sided with before, it seems Freddie will always accompany Grace to The Reliquary. We tried having chosen her, chosen Pan, and going it alone, and Freddie came with us every time.

Grace and Freddie enter a shipping container and are transported to The Reliquary. Banter with Freddie a bit about the situation and Hecate overall, and then choose "It doesn't matter" when given the option to move on.

Once you've entered The Reliquary, it doesn't take long for Hecate to notice Grace and Freddie, and you'll need to talk your way out of her anger.

There doesn't seem to be a way to lock yourself out of this scene, but essentially, you need to introduce yourself as Grace to Hecate.

Hecate tells you that Calliope wasn't meant to die yet, not for another several months, and not in the way she died at Grace's Apartment. And since "the books" are all-knowing and cannot be changed, Hecate is unsure who has the power to operate "outside the realm of fate."

She offers to help figure out what happened, but warns that it'll take time. After speaking with Hecate for a moment, you can ask to see Asterion, who will come to introduce himself - but seems bashful about wanting to talk. Hecate sees you out after Asterion leaves.

Helping Asterion

After Grace and Freddie are escorted out of The Reliquary, Asterion catches up to you outside - he does need your help, but was hesitant in front of Hecate because he needs help to confess his love to Hecate, who he simply calls Kate.

Talk to Freddie outside The Reliquary and exhaust your conversation options, and you'll hear footsteps approaching - Asterion, the Minotaur, has snuck out to catch up with you.

He has information about Calliope, and is willing to share with you if you help with his confession.

You can ask him some probing questions, but move on by choosing "Let's assume I help you..." and then exhaust all the dialogue options to segue into the song.

Song: "Cast A Spell"

In this song, Grace and Freddie are in the audience while Asterion and Hecate are singing together in something of a Romeo and Juliet balcony scene while Asterion tries to confess his feelings to Hecate.

Through your choices, you're in control of how Asterion's confession is received. Depending on how you choose:

  • Grace urges Hecate to open her heart, and through a bit of stepping in for Asterion when he needs it the most, Hecate and Asterion fall in love.
  • Freddie takes the lead in helping Asterion with his confession with some encouragement from Grace, and Hecate and Asterion get together.
  • Force Asterion and Hecate to find the words themselves by not stepping in for either of them when given the chance to decide on their behalf. Hecate refuses Asterion's confession.

After this song, you'll receive one of two achievements depending on which outcome you got, either "Meant to Be" if the confession was well-received, or "Arrow of Eros Undone" if it wasn't.

You may have a conversation after with Hecate and Asterion, and Asterion asks you to wait for him outside.

Asterion Was At The Reliquary The Night Calliope Died

Regardless of the outcome of the confession, Grace and Freddie leave The Reliquary, and Asterion catches up with them outside to offer what he knows about the night Calliope died.

He tells you that Calliope broke into The Reliquary the night she died, but tells you that she was unharmed when she arrived but ran out bleeding.

You'll need to exhaust your questions for Asterion that provide info about The Reliquary, and it's revealed that Athena knows that Calliope came to The Reliquary.

Additionally, Asterion reveals that Medusa was at The Reliquary the night Calliope died as well, but that she stayed outside in the fog until Calliope came back out, and that Medusa gave chase to Calliope as she ran.

Depending on the order in which you've done this scene and Aphrodite's Party, Medusa's name may already have come up for you. Either way, you'll be brought back to the main menu after chatting with Asterion - time to pay Medusa a visit to see what she knows.

Check Back With Pan

You're automatically brought to Olympus to speak with Pan again, who's carrying a book Asterion gave him in exchange for the favor. Chat with him about having sent you to Asterion, revealing that Pan gave Calliope the key to The Reliquary.

You'll learn some valuable information from Pan, as well as have a chance to flirt with him again, before taking off for Medusa's Lair.
