10 Vindictus

Vindictus' Regina Shot

Here's a beautifully designed MMORPG that didn't quite make it to the limelight. Vindictus is an MMORPG by devCAT. The story revolves around you joining a group of soldiers. With your group, you're set out to battle vicious monsters. Combat in Vindictus is pretty great, the graphics have been praised as well, and the character design is top-notch.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of 'play-to-win' aspects which is commonplace now with MMORPGs, which is why there is some negative resistance from the public. However, you can still enjoy it for free.

9 Eternal Sonata

Eternal Sonata - Polka and Frederic

Eternal Sonata might have been overlooked, but many gamers who've finished the game fell in love with it. The plot revolves around an anime version of the renowned pianist Chopin. You can play him as Frederic in the game. The design is parallel to many 'slice-of-life' anime titles out there.

It has been praised by many gamers for its beautiful story arc, its fun and easy-to-follow battles system, and the art style which perfectly suits the tone of the game and what it's trying to convey.

7 Neptunia X Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars

Neptunia's Yuki

Nothing beats a good anime-style fighting game. However, some are just better than others. This overlooked gem serves cute and lovely fighters with fun gameplay.

Neptunia X Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars lets you pair up to ten characters to slash through enemies. And of course, all of them have over-the-top but much-appreciated special character attacks. There's no better way to unwind from more serious titles.

6 Shin Megami Tensei V

Shin Megami Tensei V

We're quite surprised how this one was overlooked when the graphics and the storyline are quite catchy. Shin Megami Tensei V is part of the Shin Megami Tensei game series. This is your classic isekai storyline, where you're an ordinary high school student transported to a fantasy world. And of course, you get your very own demi-god savior, Aogami.

We're not just praising the plot here. This game has a beautifully designed world with many hidden areas you can explore, and the character design and background music have been masterfully created and chosen. If you're a Switch user, you're missing out by not trying this title.

5 Gravity Rush 2

Gravity Rush 2

The whole Gravity Rush series is criminally underrated. Gravity Rush 2, being our favorite in the series, is just as overlooked. It has unique gameplay mechanics and elements, and we've never really played another game where you're in control of gravity. The concept is fresh.

Set in a steampunk world with floating cities and the lot, you're sure to get your fantasy RPG fill with this. Play as Kat, as you fight Nevis and try to save the world. Gameplay and battle mechanics get even more fun as you continue to progress throughout the game.

4 Tower Of Fantasy

Tower of Fantasy gameplay

Near the top of our list is this beautiful open-world RPG that you can play on your smartphone, your PC, or your console! Now that's inclusivity. The plot is as wild as a sci-fi plot could be. You're in an intergalactic setting, the year is about 2653.

We'll spare you the mind-bending details. Your mission as a player will be to collect Astrums for the Towers. The main tower, the "Tower of Fantasy" had a bit of technical difficulties and had an explosion. You catch the drift. This hidden gem lets you go on raids, dungeons, just like a classic MMORPG. Except you're on another planet and everything. Graphics and visual design? Superb.

3 Tales of Berseria

Tales Of Berseria

There's nothing quite like a hero/heroine with guts of steel and willpower that's probably made with pure fire. That's what you get in Tales of Berseria. You play Velvet, with a demon hand that can seriously slay. She's out to exact revenge for her murdered brother. A perfect plot for an action-packed RPG.

This gem will have you immersed in its rich and deep story. It could honestly be made into an anime and be a hit. The combat mechanics are great because they're extremely. We do hail it as a masterpiece and not anything less. You will not be disappointed by picking up this title.

2 Mahou Arms

Mahou Arms MC

Want to try an early access game on your Steam account by a seriously small developer team? This game is completely impressive given that it's from an indie developer house. And yes, it's still going through improvements. Play as Amelia in Mahou Arms. You're now a magical girl in a paramilitary group that fights against aliens. What more can you want?

The combat in this game is as smooth as you want it to be, and it's honestly fun. It's also free-range in movement, which is what's so fun about hack n' slash games. And the protagonist is just too cute for this world.

1 Scarlet Nexus

Scarlet Nexus

If you're a fan of game worlds based on plots that are a little bit more complex and far out, then you'll love playing Scarlet Nexus. You get to go against mutant aliens who are out to eat human brains. We couldn't make this up.

The combat system takes some getting used to, but it's quite fun that the developers added these small details that make it a bit more challenging. You can fight some amazingly done and scary monsters and combat just becomes incredibly fun and interesting once you leveled up a bit. The design and tone fit well with the sci-fi plot. A must-try for sci-fi fans.
