Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's second DLC expansion, the Indigo Disk, will bring back all of the old starter Pokemon. This was just revealed in a new trailer, giving us a better look at the DLC that's expected to launch towards the end of this year.

Here, we can see old favourites like Bulbasaur, Torchic, Piplup, and more running around various biomes, created to house Pokemon from different regions. Better yet, when they're not being caught, we can see them hang out with one another. Whether they're swimming in the sea or dozing off together, the starters have made this biome their home, and it's pretty goddamn adorable.

Judging by the trailer, the whole gang is here. This will offer fans the rare chance to have a team full of starter Pokemon, and without doing a whole lot of awkward trades between various Pokemon games.

This isn't all that the Indigo Disk will introduce. There are also changes to Pokemon battles, including new moves. Psychic Noise both deals damage and stops Pokemon from healing, although it's not clear if this is just for one round or more. As well as this, we have Upper Hand, a new priority move. This seemingly has even more priority than moves like Quick Attack, always going first and possibly making the opponent flinch. Electric-type Pokemon get a similar move too, called Thunderclap. Tachyon Cutter, on the other hand, is guaranteed to hit twice in a row, regardless of priority.

On top of all of that, there's a new Tera Type, but we didn't get to see a whole lot of that. The DLC doesn't even have a firm release date yet anyway, so we can expect more news on this as we get into winter.

Before that, we have the first DLC for Scarlet & Violet: the Teal Mask. This is set to launch on September 13, although it looks much more aimed at those looking for a casual experience than the Indigo Mask does. Here, there's a bunch of minigames you can play with friends in multiplayer, including one that's incredibly reminiscent of New Pokemon Snap. It launches in an incredibly busy month for gaming, with Starfield, Baldur's Gate 3, Mortal Kombat 1, and many more games launching too, so something more laid-back will fit in nicely.

Alternatively, the Indigo Disk seems more single player focussed, particularly for those of you just looking to complete your Pokedex. With various biomes to explore, it looks like that will be the primary aim of the Indigo Disk. That said, there are still probably a bunch more details to be shown off, especially after the Teal Mask launches next month.
